Cruinniú na bhFliúit
In 2006, myself and my wife founded, after several years of pondering, a festival devoted to the flute in traditional Irish music.
We called it Cruinniú na bhFliúit, which while at the same time displaying some of the spelling and pronunciation challenges (krinew na vlute) which confuse non-Irish speakers, simply means The Flute Meeting.
It initially ran as a biennial event, so 2008 and 2010 were the next two dates, but it’s been annual since.
At this remove, after 18 years, we’ve handed our baby over, and you can read all about it HERE or follow on FACEBOOK.
There are lots of images from various years over in the GALLERY.
