Essentially it replaces the Hamilton Flutes website, which became defunct a few years ago as I was unable to edit it due to changes in software, but also expands it into other areas of interest to me.

In fact it was time for a change.

As many people who were aware of my life as a flute maker are aware, I decided in May, 2018 to close my order book 39 years after opening it. You’ll find more information about that part of my life over on the FLUTEMAKING page.

However this site is not simply a replacement of the other.

One of the reasons for my “retirement” from flute making was the desire to concentrate on other areas and interests, most, if not all of which I’ve been following all my life, and the majority of which are music related. But not all.
Thus you find pages relating to my life as an academic, my life as a musician, as someone long involved with the environment and via the gallery get a glimpse of some of the (admittedly too large a number of) many other interests that I have.

…and of course I’m getting on a bit. The realisation that this decade might be the last stirs something deep inside.

So instead of taking up with a young wan, or buying a sports car, I decided to get a new website.
